The Way I Remember It… Chapter 2

With the exception of my guitar, we, pretty much, sold everything we owned and left Moncton on Friday, August 16th1985. We flew into Edmonton, Albertaand from there we caught the Greyhound to Bonnyville. Two hundred and forty kilometers or one hundred and fifty miles north east of Edmonton.

The following Saturday, Keith picked me up around noon in his pickup truck. I threw my gear in the back and hopped in. We drove out to Ernie’s place, picked him and his drums and drove back in to town. We got to Keith’s place and started hauling equipment down to the basement. I carried my Peavey guitar and my little Backstage Plus amplifier.

The school was all but empty.
The fake Christmas tree was sitting in the corner.
Its lights blinking randomly.
There were just a couple of stragglers milling around.
I had nothing to do but sit and wait until I was needed to help move our gear out to our vehicles.
