Back Home For Christmas

Written in October 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee

The only thing on my wish list
I wanna get back home for Christmas
Back home for Christmas

Don’t need nothing wrapped in ribbons and bows
Just the old home town ‘neath a blanket of snow
Back home for Christmas

Take me back to the good old days
To hay rides on a horse drawn sleigh
Standing on chairs to decorate the tree
And counting down the days until Christmas eve

Back home for Christmas

With aunts and uncles and cousins galore
Does anyone need anything from Charlie’s store?
Back home for Christmas

Back home for Christmas

Take me back to the good old days
To Highfield Square and the Santa Claus Parade
Way up high on my Daddy’s shoulders
Never did I think I’d ever get older

As the years rolled by, the season lost its charm
Until one day with baby Tallulah in my arms
Back home for Christmas

The only thing on my wish list
I wanna get back home for Christmas
Back home for Christmas

Back home for Christmas

Back home for Christmas
