Angels In The Snow

Written in December 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee

Snow is falling on the ground
It’s Christmas time in Christmas Town
And the carollers, they’re all going door to door
“Hey Mom, I love this eggnog, could I have a little more?”

Elvis was having a blue blue Christmas
Bing was singing about the ones he used to know
One day this Christmas Day will be one from long ago
And I’ll remember Ruby making angels in the snow
I’ll remember Ruby making angels in the snow

Well, I remember as a boy back in Butternut Ridge
Everyday after school, ‘neath the tree, shaking gifts
And we’d decorate that tree that my Dad had chopped down
And on the TV was “Merry Christmas Charlie Brown”

Elvis was having a blue blue Christmas
Bing was singing about the ones he used to know
One day this Christmas Day will be one from long ago
And I’ll remember Ruby making angels in the snow
I’ll remember Ruby making angels in the snow

So long ago
Gone like last years snow
But what you don’t know,
Is you take it with you
These memories
Sweet sweet memories
Do you believe?
I did, then didn’t, but I do now

I did, then didn’t, but I do now

Now I can’t look back without a tear in my eye
And the fear that the years have passed me by

Back when Elvis was having a blue blue Christmas
Bing was singing about the ones he used to know
One day this Christmas Day will be one from long ago
And I’ll remember Ruby making angels in the snow

I’ll remember Ruby making angels in the snow

I’ll remember Ruby making angels in the snow
