For Every Boy And Girl

Written in November 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee

Well the stockings are hung
And the carols are sung
And the kids can’t sleep at night
Well, the tree is lit
And the kids can’t sit still
Because Santa Claus, he comes to night

It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
All around the world
It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
For every boy and girl

Well the gifts are all wrapped
But the credit card’s maxed
There ain’t a dime that I ain’t spent
Adios
So long
It’s another year gone
I don’t know where the money or the time went

It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
All around the world
It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
For every boy and girl

Well I remember as a boy
Looking at all the toys
In the old catalog from Sears
I’d almost make myself sick
Waiting up for Saint Nick
And his trusty 8 or 9 reindeers

It was Christmas time
Christmas time
All around the world
Well it’s Christmas time
Christmas time
For every boy and girl

And together we’d all
Gather at the Old Grey Hall on every Christmas eve
My Grandma would open up her gifts
As all us kids, we’d fetch ‘em from neath the tree

And as the snow fell on the field
We’d eat a Christmas meal
And sing “O Holy Night”
I wish I lived there still
In that house on the hill
‘neath a roof all snowy white

It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
All around the world
It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
For every boy and girl

It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
All around the world
It’s Christmas time
Christmas time
For every boy and girl

For every boy and girl

For every boy and girl
