“Good As Gone Blues”

Anyway,
Now, where was I?
Oh yeah.

Here’s a song I wrote back in April of 2008, with Jason McCoy.

I recorded it a month later, during the “8:30 Newfoundland” sessions.
It was going to be the last song on the record.
It would wrap up the album perfectly.

“Honey, them bad bad times, now babe, they’re as good as gone…”

But, at the last possible second, I decided to leave the song off the album.

The minute I cracked open my shrink wrapped copy of “8:30 Newfoundland”, I realized that I’d made a mistake.

Damn it.

“Good As Gone Blues” should’ve been the last song on the album, right after “Weeds”.

Oh well.
Win some.
Lose the rest.

I’ve played this song in almost every show I’ve done since I wrote it.

It’s one of my favourites.
